Located about 35 km north of Kozhikode, this beach is perfect for swimming, water sports, and peaceful retreats. Famed as the hometown of legendary sprinter P.T. Usha, the “Payyoli Express,” the beach is a must-visit for sports lovers. In the months of November–December, endangered Olive Ridley turtles arrive here to nest, protected by the 'Theeram' Nature Conservation Centre run by local fisherfolk. About 1.5 km north lies a serene sandbank at the Moorad river estuary, a paradise for bird watchers. Nearby attractions include the Kunjali Marakkar Museum, Thikkodi Lighthouse, Velliyamkallu, and local temples.
